The Role
We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join an exciting and growing company with ambitious development plans. We are offering an opportunity to join a team of professionals who are disrupting marketplace finance with a proven methodology. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years experience filtering investment opportunities, preferably debt, for UK SMEs and lending companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate, analyse and assess debt opportunities both onsite and offsite.
- Meet with potential clients to gain an understanding of their business and needs
- Perform corporate due diligence together with service providers to gain insight into the operations of potential clients
- Produce and present high-quality analysis and recommendations on a portfolio of potential clients including detailed financial models;
- Present opportunities to the investment committee
- Ensure that we are able to develop client relationships whilst managing credit risk and meeting regulatory requirements; and
- Work closely with various stakeholders and add value through producing high-quality recommendations, managing the credit process and its stakeholders, sharing knowledge and identifying opportunities and threats.
- Identify and support assumptions through independent thinking and without over-relying on upper management input
- Proactively identify new opportunities to contribute to the business across multiple sectors
- Enhance knowledge of risk and portfolio oversight independently and build a thorough understanding of the risk and payoff profiles across a range of investments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in finance, economics, applied mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science or a related quantitative field
- Prior experience in a financial markets position
- Demonstrated ability to cover multiple credits in a fast-paced environment requiring efficient evaluation of opportunities in response to news and market changes
- Familiarity with modelling techniques for corporate capital structures and debt instruments, risk measurement/management and performance attribution techniques is a plus
- Willingness to embrace quantitative analytics and technology for research and idea generation
- Excellent analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment
Remuneration/Benefits:
An attractive annual salary (based on 13 months) will be offered to the right candidate as we have a flexible budget for this position according to qualifications skills and experience.
21 days of paid annual leave.
Flexible working hours (total of 37.5 hours per week).
