Our client is a Global Shipping Services Company and they are looking to hire a Purchasing Manager to join their team based in Limassol.
Responsibilities:
Leading the Purchasing Team to ensure best possible performance in terms of purchasing all company’s supplies
Negotiating best possible price and terms including bulk purchases
Supervising all request for quotations, orders and purchases
Looking for ways to improve the operation
Supervising below Purchasing Officer’s functions
Monitoring and ensuring that goods are delivered timely
Checking, monitoring and following-up outstanding orders regularly
Processing of all timely invoices accordingly
Monitoring company’s regular suppliers
Being the point of contact for suppliers with regards to payments
Preparing of quotations, orders and files with regards to Technical matters
Preparing and following up of pre-payments
Ensuring implementation of the SMS in the area of the responsibilities
Requirements:
Degree in Shipping, Business Management or relevant degree and/or at least 10 years of experience in the purchasing department in a Shipping Company
Knowledge of Danaos software will be considered an advantage
Extensive knowledge of technical and marine supplies as well as other services provided to a ship i.e. services, inspection requirements
Leadership skills to guide and develop purchasing team.
Being creative to achieve better results for the company
Team player
Ability to work under pressure
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to meet deadlines
Good organizational skills
Strong computer literacy. Knowledge of Danaos system will be considered as an advantage.
