Job Description

Our client a well established Insurance Company is looking to hire a person to fill the role of Underwriting Supervisor for their office based in Limassol.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in risk analysis and selection with remarkable decision-making skills

The key responsibilities will include:

Supervising the underwriting team while ensuring meeting requirements of the underwriting processes and procedures.

Collects appropriate and accurate information required to assess potential clients to decide acceptable risk for a policy.

Provides supervision for a group of underwriters who review, analyse, and inspect insurance risks.

Decides whether the proposed risk involved in insuring potential customers is accepted or rejected beyond the authority of staff.

Prepares reports that detail risk assessment findings that contribute to the final decisions.

Analyses statistical data using statistical computer programs

Prepares and reviews quotes, determine premiums and coverage and negotiate terms with clients.

Manages complex underwriting activities, reviews the work of department’s staff.

Ensures adherence to underwriting policies, guidelines and procedures.

Recommends and communicates goals. Directs operations to ensure the achievement of required results.

Develops, recommends and implements operational plans and procedures.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics & Statistics, Risk Assessment, Actuarial field.

Minimum 3 years of similar work experience in similar position.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Greek language.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point etc.).

Strong knowledge of and experience with SPSS, SAS or other analytical software.

Leadership and performance management skills.

Analytical, mathematical and statistical skills.

Negotiation and interpersonal skills.
