Job Description

Our client, an innovative communications company based in Limassol, is looking to hire a motivated individual in the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who will be responsible for overseeing all product development aspects of the Company offering, from the technology and technical feasibility perspectives. The CTO is also responsible for the proper function and availability of live environments and products to the customers.  Continuous innovation and budget management form the other two main functions of this role. The CTO works with the Executive Management to develop the Company through the use of technological resources. Using a proactive and practical approach, the CTO will direct all employees in the Technology Business Unit to attain The Company's strategic goals established in the strategic plan.

Responsibilities:

Ensure all software and services related are valuable and securely safeguarded in cooperation with the Management.

Ensure proper documentation regarding the is maintained.

Lead all aspects of the The Company's technological development.

Develop and take responsibility for the Technology roadmap, working closely with other business units.

Develop and take responsibility for the Technology budget, working closely with executive management, finance and other business unit heads.

Maintain an up to date knowledge of the maritime industry's needs, expectations, trends and overlay the same on to The Company's strategic goals with regards to applicable current and future technology.

Seek business enabling technology driven innovation that is relevant to The Company and present business cases for the use of such innovation to Executive management.

Ensure that products and the use of products adhere to relevant industry standards for Development, DevOps, Technical Operations, Regulation and Security. Unless stated otherwise, "products" refers to internally used products and those used by customers.

Closely cooperate with other Business Unit heads, in order to ensure that The Company's technology offering is innovative and ahead of the curve. 

Work in a consultative fashion with other business unit and department heads as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.

Provide leadership to the Technology Business Unit, department heads in a fashion that supports The Company's culture, mission and values.

Conduct research and case studies on leading edge technologies and make determinations on their feasibility and applicability of implementation.

Act as a good handler of The Company's resources and ensure control of all departmental budgets within the Technology Business Unit.

Take responsibility for the management of technology providers.

Represent the Technology Business Unit in staff meetings and when making hiring decisions. 

Maintain current knowledge of technology landscape and developments. 

Consolidate The Company's technology platforms and create plans for each. 

Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics. 

Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity. 

Spearhead IT and Product Development projects to increase market reach and improve USP (Unique Selling Proposition). 

Oversee the Customer Support services of The Company and ensure there is a continuous high level of support and monitoring offered to the customers. 

Propose and ensure compliance with proposed SLAs with regards to customer support.

Oversee and ensure the NOC operations are conducted smoothly.

Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture.

Maintain in depth knowledge of The Company's products and services.

Maintain good knowledge of the The Company's electronic systems and databases.

Represent The Company at conferences, exhibitions, and other events where it is deemed appropriate.

Attend customer meetings when higher level Technology input is deemed required.

Introduce and oversee new ways of maintaining a leading position in the market for The Company's products and services.

Requirements:

A Degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Software Development or other related fields.

A post graduate Degree in an IT, Project Management or Management related field.

At least 5 years' experience in a similar position.

Excellent knowledge of the English Language.

Knowledge of software development life cycle processes.

Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

Strong "executive management" skills

Confident in producing and presenting work.

A strong "can do" CTO who delivers high quality results, on-time and within budget.

Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with peers, brand leaders, and other senior management throughout the company.

Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
