Job Description
On behalf of our client, an information technology firm with many years of experience we are seeking to recruit for the following position:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the leadership, organisation, budgeting and deployment of the technical delivery team. This is a senior management role in the Company.
Duties will include planning, administration, supervision, training requirements, discipline and evaluation of the team members. The Operations Manager has to oversee a team of employees and make sure that their work is done efficiently, to the defined quality standards (ISO 9001.)
The Operations Manager will be a customer orientated individual with the ability to manage detailed customer requirements and all aspects of the Company's solution offerings thereto.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides firm and confident leadership to a team of highly qualified technical professionals
Organises the team to ensure that the Company's delivery obligations are met at all times. This will require detailed understanding of customer requirements and skill set matching
Identifies skills requirements and deficiencies, ensuring no single point of failure in staff performance and initiates recruitment/training as required. In particular, manages the Company's certification requirements under its partnership agreements
Prepares cost budgets for the technical team and input for the Company's financial planning
Works closely with the other members of the management team, in particular Sales, to ensure that the Company's order and revenue goals are achieved
Ensures the performance management, administration, renewal and extension of Customer Annual maintenance contracts.
Ensures the keeping of accurate records on each team member, which include documentation of hours worked, incident reports, progress reports and evaluations.
Ensures the keeping of an accurate inventory of equipment used by the technical team
Facilitates team meetings: leads group activities designed to encourage the development of teamwork, conflict resolution, communication, goal setting and decision making
Carries out any other relevant duties to his/her position assigned by the Managing Director
