Currently BKMS is looking to hire a professional for an International based client that is going to establish its operations in Cyprus. The position is full time, based in Nicosia with the following requirements:
Mission
Sales Engineer provides technical support during contracts negotiation or conducting business. This task may occur either during the sales transaction (pre-sales) or after the sale (after-sales) or during both. The main mission is to participate in the preparation of the technical solutions, best suited to customer needs, as well as to implement relevant solutions.
Tasks
The sales engineer may exercise his or her tasks throughout all of the process of providing technical or commercial support to the customers, manufacturers, operators, service and/or consulting companies. In certain cases, the role of the position might resemble to the provision of consulting services.
Activities
Pre- sales
The position requires the analysis of the client's technical requirements as well as the definition of the specifications, which they will be submitted to the technical services department. Based on the feedback of the department, he or her develops customized technical solutions and proposals based upon an evaluation of the relevant solutions in terms of feasibility, cost and time-schedule. The position requires involvement in commercial negotiations with the sales or project engineer.
After - Sales
Coordination of activities between the client and technical services, participation in the initiation phase of the project, involvement in the development of the planning schedule, following up the progress of the project until its finalization. In collaboration with the sales engineer, initiation and follow up of the invoicing process and offering / negotiating potential modifications according to the relevant specifications.
Relational environment
According to the organizations, the sales engineer can be linked either to the head of a technical department, either to the head of a commercial department. He or she mainly works in close coordination with a sales engineer, or with a project engineer. Internally, he or she coordinates with the technical (support) department, which may be also involved in the project. Additionally, he or she may contribute while defining new products (marketing and technical department). He or she is at all times closely involved with the client, both during the phase in which the client’s requirements are defined and negotiated, as well as during phase of realization and implementation of the project in itself.
Performance Criteria
The success of the business proposal largely depends on the sales engineer’s ability to generate technical solutions tailor made to meet customer’s needs. Therefore, he or she will be frequently assessed based on the quality of the drafted documents and his or her interpersonal skills during the negotiation phase with the client or with the technical teams during the implementation of the project.
Working Conditions
The sales engineer will travel frequently. He or she can fulfil both short and long-term missions in EU, Middle East and North Africa counties, particularly during the phase in which the client’s specific needs are being analysed.
Specific knowledge
-B.Sc. or equivalent degree in IT / electronic communications with commercial / marketing specialization.
-Postgraduate qualifications are not required but will be considered as an advantage.
-Fluent in English (understanding, speaking and writing).
-French will be considered as an advantage.
-Expertise working on a team with motivated cross-functional individuals focused on a common goal of delivering cutting edge solutions to meet aggressive business demands in an ever-changing environment.
-Good understanding of global telecom / IT solutions industry and sound knowledge of the market trend

Experience
The sales engineer can be either a beginner or have a first experience in the technical field. However, it can also be an experienced engineer and recognized expert in the relevant sector. Management and marketing experience will be considered as an advantage.
