Job Description

Job Purpose

This is a professional position, which coordinates and facilitates the Vocational Programs to meet or exceed all standards established by the Council of Hospitality Academy.

General Responsibilities

•           Works with trainers and administration staff to develop and maintain curriculum and course syllabi. Evaluates and recommends adjustments to curriculum and procedures as needed.

•           Train the Trainers on Hospitality Academy’s training standards; Be in charge of the trainers’ team in Cyprus and abroad.

•           Delivers vocational programs when, where and if required, under the instructions of the Academy Director.

•           Be in charge of the Training Management System (TMS) and ensure effective administration, delivery and evaluation of program courses and trainees through TMS; monitors the instructional delivery system and provides guidance for the improvement of instructional quality.

•           Establishes program goals and objectives in cooperation with business partners and the

•           Academy Council, in alignment with the mission and vision of Hospitality Academy.

•           Provides accurate information for the timely printing of class schedules, program recruitment brochures, information/application packets and the academy vocational catalogue.

•           Establishes and interprets program policies consistent with Academy instructional policies. Recruits, counsels, and manages the selection of incoming trainees.

•           Coordinates trainees learning experiences and monitors trainees progress. Advises and guides trainees to meet expected outcomes of the program.

•           Maintains appropriate trainees’ records; compiles statistical information on trainees and generates appropriate reports as required by the Academy.

•           Provides an effective organization through the hiring, training, evaluation and motivation of vocational program instructors. Develops and maintains an organizational structure that ensures effective and efficient program operations.

•           Coordinates the preparation of the vocational program budget and monitors budget expenditures to maximize wise utilization and effectiveness of available resources.

•           Maintains and orders appropriate vocational equipment, supplies, library and audio-visual supplies. Secures and ensures the proper working condition of facilities and equipment assigned to the vocational programs.

•           Models and sustains effective Servant-Leadership and Shared Governance practices, which enhance the achievement of the vision, goals, plans and student-centered culture of Hospitality Academy.

Required Qualifications

·            Diploma from an accredited institution of higher education in Hotel Management or relevant discipline.

·            Accreditation Certificate as a Trainer by the Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus.

·            Three (3) years of experience preferably in the field of food and beverage operations, or/and housekeeping operations, or/and other relevant hospitality field.

Other Requirements

·            Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and maintain positive working relationships with trainees, peers, staff and trainers.

·            Demonstrated experience using a personal computer, office software such as MS Office and electronic mail.

·            Demonstrated ability to:

o   Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

o   Establish and maintain effective working relationships with trainers, staff, trainees and the public.

o   Work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

o   Travel abroad to attend, deliver or/and supervise vocational programs.
