The Department Computer Science at the University of Nicosia invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position in the field of Computer Science, specialization in Big Data beginning in the fall semester of 2018.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have a PhD degree and strong publication record in the relevant research area. The candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. More specifically, required qualifications include:
- PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field
- Strong record of scientific publications
- Evidence of effective teaching
The following will be considered a plus:
- Experience in Big Data frameworks, architectures, and software
- Ηands-on experience with Big Data platforms, data programming, and applications of Big Data
- Experience with EU-funded research
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, new program development, carrying out research work, applying for research grants, participating in international conferences and publishing in academic journals.
