An Underwriting Assistant is responsible for deciding on whether the received requests for the insurance products offered by Gan Direct should be accepted by evaluating the degree of risk involved in the likelihood of a claim. The Underwriting Assistant will also be responsible for preparing and analysing reports, identifying and making suggestions for improvement of the department. As an Underwriter Assistant, you will be:
- Performing decision-making in accepting or rejecting a risk
- Preparing rules based on experience for evaluating risk
- Researching and analysing, preparing and presenting results
- Supporting Customer Service Advisors and Call Centre Advisor with queries regarding underwriting issues
- Preparing and analysing reports
- Ratemaking and pricing
- Participating in training and coaching sessions for continuous learning and development
Requirements:
- University degree in Finance, Mathematics & Statistics, Risk Assessment, Actuarial
- Minimum 3 years of experience in statistics, risk assessment, underwriting, data analysis or actuarial position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Greek
- Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
- SPSS, SAS or other analytical software will be considered an advantage
- Numerical skills and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
- Active listener with critical thinking, sound judgment and attention to details
- Strong organizational skills
