Job Description

CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International Shipping & Trading company with offices in Limassol, we are seeking to recruit a bright and ambitious Russian-Speaking Operations Officer to join their expanding team of professionals.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
 

  • To assist company’s Traders and Management in composing Trading Projects; compose relevant commercial contracts and arrange their signing.
  • Ensure smooth flow and proper implementation of each delegated deal / contract, compliance with delivery and payment terms in line with contractual obligations. To perform all necessary steps for proper and timely loading, transportation and discharging of the designated cargo – including but not limited to:
  • Arranging shipments (vessels, rail cars, trucks, etc…) relevant to each contract and in coordination with IPSA Chartering Dept.
  • Arranging vessels’ nominations and getting laytime information.
  • Making sure that any shipment is in line with the relevant trade finance banks’ requirements.
  • Maintaining contact with supervision companies in order to arrange weighing, sampling, analysis, umpire assay instructions, assay exchange preparation.
  • Maintaining regular contacts with suppliers / buyers / logistic operators in relation to any commercial contractual obligations (availability of material, shipping instructions, payments, hedging, quality & weight, etc…).
  • Assisting in processing the outgoing payments and receiving payments from buyers. Ensuring timely receiving of all relevant documents required under applicable Letters of Credit or Documentary Collection or Stand-By Letters of Credit; assisting Trade Finance Desk in monitoring of payments or collection of funds from relevant buyers.
  • Timely and properly register in the CTRM System, maintain and update all relevant Operational information, facts / events / documents which have to be recorded in / attached to the CTRM System according to the relevant instructions and procedure.

 
Key Skills/Experience:
 

  • University degree or similar education evidenced by Bachelor degree/diploma or higher, preferably in Shipping or Maritime.
  • Working experience in Shipping or Maritime in a similar capacity will be considered an advantage, but not essential.
  • Being able to work under pressure, whilst maintaining high standards in terms of accuracy and quality of work.
  • Aspirations and potential for professional and career growth and development.
  • Full professional fluency in English & Russian is essential (Written & Spoken). 
  • Proven team player.
  • Professional knowledge in typing and mature skill in wording letters and documents without any supervision.
  • Willigness to learn and develop. 
  • Windows environment knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel.
