Job Description

CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a well-established and expanding company operating within the Construction sector, we are seeking to recruit an experienced and suitably qualified Financial Controller to join their team of professionals based in Larnaca.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
 

  • Oversee the Finance function of the company and related entities of the group that fall within the scope of the group.
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports on a weekly basis.
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants and be able to assist the mechanical engineers/QS in own forecasting of income/expenses.
  • Motivate and lead team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported as per local laws.
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations and to be able to present reliable trial balance to the auditors for preparation of interim & final FS.
  • Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and reports.
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly (on a monthly basis) to look for cost reduction opportunities.
  • Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies.
  • Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
  • Present financial reports and recommendations to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
  • Be able to present at meeting with Bankers in assisting in examining new facilities and renewing existing facilities.

 
Key Skills/Experience:
 

  • Educated to degree level in Accounting/Finance or related field.
  • Be a Member of a professional accounting body (ACCA/ACA/CPA).
  • Previous extensive and demonstrable experience is a similar capacity is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills in Greek & English (Written & Spoken) are essential.
  • Outstanding knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Good understanding of accounting software.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of current VAT and Tax laws and Social Insurance Laws.
