Job Description

CareerFinders, on behalf of Bank of Cyprus, one of the Island’s leading and most highly respected Banking Institutions, we are seeking to recruit a Project Manager to join their expanding team of professionals based in Nicosia.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
 
Project Planning:

  • Plans the request for proposal process (RFP) by adhering to the procedures defined by the Group Procurement Department.
  • Defines the project governance in cooperation with the project owner and stakeholders.
  • Effectively plans projects from start to end in alignment with the Project Management Methodology set by the Project Management Office and with the terms agreed between the Bank and vendor contracts.
  • Plans, negotiates and manages resource requirements within the delegated projects.
  • Prepares and manages the project plan, including timelines, key milestones, stakeholder deliverables and budget requirements to ensure the successful delivery of the projects.
  • Defines, implements and manages the project’s communication, issue and risk plan.

 
Project Execution:

  • Manages projects and ensures that key outcomes, contractual requirements and in-scope deliverables are met.
  • Manages the project effectively and efficiently to ensure the project plan and budget objectives are met.
  • Builds and maintains positive on-going cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrates commitment to team work and maintains a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Works closely with the operational team of the project, develops project teams/roles by holding them accountable for their commitments, removes roadblocks in cross teams work, manages interdependencies and ensures that tasks/work is assigned and completed on time.
  • Leverages organizational resources to improve capacity for program work, and communicates program progress and issues to management.
  • Ensures that risks and issues are identified and properly managed by utilizing the project governance roles/bodies.
  • Identifies and manages change requests during project execution by adhering to the change request management process as this is defined in the project management framework.
  • Maintain and closely monitors the financials of the project (internal and external costs) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Organizes and leads project status, prepares and distributes progress reports and corrects deviations from plans.
  • Ensures that any interaction with the project owner, the project stakeholders, the vendors and the governance bodies are dealt with in a professional manner. 
  • Fulfils the project’s administrative requirements, by ensuring that all project management information/data is maintained within the project records.

 
Project Closure:

  • Ensures that the project owner delivers the project benefits and the benefit realization plan. 
  • Ensures that all administration and financial activities are completed and documented in the PMO’s Project Management Tool (CA PPM).
  • Prepares a project closure report and completes a project review with PMO, project owner and project governance bodies.

 
       
Key Skills/Experience:
 

  • University BSc degree preferably in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) from an accredited University is required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Have and maintain an industry recognized certification in Project Management (PMP, Prince2, PMP Agile, etc).
  • 3 plus years’ experience in managing and delivering IT projects in a cross-functional/interdisciplinary environment.
  • Banking experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change.
  • Confidence and ability to influence team members and stakeholders toward common goals.
  • Ability to interface comfortably with the Senior Management to develop an understanding of needs.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships.
  • Problem definition and resolution skills.
  • Project Management skills: project initiation, project plan creation, resource allocation, time/schedule management, risk management, budget tracking, prioritization, status reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Must possess superior oral and written communications skills, in order to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables.
  • Proficient in MS Project and MS Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
