Job Description

On behalf of our client, a leading dry bulk & bagged goods maritime transportation business founded in 2015 in Limassol, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic early-stage professional to be part of the company’s analytics and reporting team, adopting the role of Operations Analyst. The company is in the process of building state-of-the art analytics and reporting processes.

The ideal individual will be well rounded willing to do anything from reporting daily on the company’s operations, pulling and analysing data that will contribute to management’s decision making, create dashboards, conduct operation research and update the company’s IT platform. The successful applicant will be under the management and guidance of the company’s Analyst.

A good candidate will grow with a rapidly expanding firm which has been setup in Cyprus and has been operating for over 3 years.

Job Responsibilities

  • Report daily on the company’s activities and create reporting templates
  • Update the company’s IT platform and maintain the company’s databases
  • Obtain, prepare and analyse data that will facilitate decision making
  • Conduct research and present key findings to management
  • Pull data from APIs and summarize on interactive dashboards
  • Design and present workflow diagrams for the purpose of training employees
  • Directly assist the company’s Analyst in daily tasks and research projects

The individual does not need to have relevant work experience on the Maritime shipping industry. Individuals from the natural sciences, engineering, statistics or computer scientists are highly encouraged to apply.

A very good grasp of English language is required for this role. Mathematical thinkers, with flexible and solid IT skills and the ability to independently solve problems will be preferred. Programming skills in Python and R will be considered a bonus.  Additional languages are also a bonus. There are opportunities to travel to follow the company’s various shipping activities.
