Job Description

Intermediate IT engineer also called Network Control Centre Level 2 engineer (NCC2) is a qualified IT technician maintaining company’s and customers’ equipment and solutions. NСC2 acts as higher level duty engineer solving technical tasks escalated from front line support (NCCl). NCC2 also act as competent operations technicians performing implementation, commissioning and maintenance of company’s products for both commercial and internal projects.

Required Qualifications

NCC2 working shifts and duty shifts

NCC2 working hours are flexible and are scheduled in shifts. Mostly shift time allocated to an NCC2 engineer is scheduled during business hours of the local office timezone.
Shifts are normally attended by an NCC2 engineer on his workplace in the office, however in special cases duty can be attended remotely.
Shift duration during business hours varies on the number of current available NCC2 engineers as well as Operations department duty engineer.
NCC2 engineers are required to work 8 hours Monday-Friday with an additional 1 hour for lunch. Work during non-business hours or weekends may be requested, for duty shifts or local on-site assistance. Worked hours must not exceed 40 hours per week.

IPTP Networks provides its’ customers with 24/7 technical support.
NCC2 engineers are required to take duty however the responsibilities vary between NCC and OPS duty.

NCC2 duty main responsibilities are:

  • Assistance and supervision of NCC1 engineers
  • Giving solutions for tasks escalated from NCC1 duty or escalating them to the expert level (NCC3).
  • Implementation and maintenance of new or existing customer projects.

Customer communication is done via e-mail through the internal RT ticketing system or by phone. Main language used for internal and customer communication is English, both written and spoken. Russian, Greek and Chinese are complimentary. In case customer is unable to communicate in English, customer preferred language should be used, with help of a knowledgeable colleague.
All NCC engineers are required to use internal tools and resources provided for communication and troubleshooting.

Expected level of expertise.

NCC2 engineers are expected to have intermediate or advanced technical knowledge in at least one of the following areas:

  • Networking
  • Security
  • Routing & Switching
  • VoIP
  • Administering of virtualization and data storage systems
  • Advanced server system administration(Windows/Linux)
