CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a very well-established and growing company operating within the financial services sector, we are seeking to recruit a bright, hardworking and ambitious Junior Risk Manager to join their expanding team of professionals based in Nicosia.

Role Overview:
 
You will build valued relationships with clients in Cyprus and across multiple European jurisdictions within the financial services industry such as fund managers, funds, investment services firms, electronic money institutions and payment institutions. You will focus on high-impact opportunities and projects, gaining experience and unique insight in one or more disciplines, you will elevate your knowledge to provide combined services covering a spectrum of activities from financial risk management to information technology.
 
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
 

• As part of our established, yet growing team, you will be expected to assist the senior members in the execution of projects involving a wide range of major clients in Cyprus and abroad.
• As part of the Risk Consulting team your day to day responsibilities will include organising and collecting information from clients, performing financial  and non-financial analysis, supporting in financial risk modelling, supporting and participating in client interviews, participating in workshops and meetings, preparing project and client deliverables and high quality reports.

 
Key Skills/Experience:
 

• Excellent academic background, including a bachelor degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or other related field.
• Excellent communication (speaking and writing) skills in the English language.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Interest in legal and regulatory compliance and reporting frameworks.
• Basic/academic - knowledge of financial risk management principles.
• Basic/academic of financial sector regulatory reporting frameworks (e.g. Basel III, MiFID II, AIFMD, CRR).
• 1 year of working experience in Banking, Fund, Investment Services industry or the Advisory/Consulting environment.
• Legal and regulatory compliance understanding and awareness.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment and learn quickly.
• Interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with members of the team and client staff.
• Numeracy and accuracy skills in addition to being diligent.
• Analytical capabilities and ability to disaggregate financial and non-financial information.
• Curious with an appetite to grow knowledge base and experience.
• High intellectual curiosity and energy.
• Eager to step up and provide assistance to the team depending on workload and capacity.
• Willingness to maintain up-to-date knowledge of current investment market and economic issues.
• Ability and willingness to undertake travel within Cyprus and the EU to meet client and project needs.
