Summer Internship in P.G Economides & Co Limited, Chartered Certified Accountants (July 2015) :

Responsibilities:

• Completed 1 months work experience in which I successfully completed various tasks which included bookkeeping, filing and preparation of Audit files based on the company’s Audit procedures.
• Assisted the lead Auditor on bookkeeping, which enabled me to gain an insight in Auditing, which I then applied to my own work to prepare several Audit files.
•  Efficiently used Intellisoft software to complete bookkeeping tasks.
• Worked with several complex structure company accounts, which was an extremely valuable experience for my future career.
•  Communicated professionally with fellow colleagues in a friendly environment, which enabled me to create a good impression with those within the company.
•  Effectively assisted the bookkeeping team by completing all work to a high standard, even in areas in which I had not been previously trained.
• Continuously received positive feedback from the Auditing leader who provided me with valuable knowledge for my future career which helped me to improve in areas in which I was previously not confident in.

Achievements: The last day of my summer-internship I got paid €500.00 even though I should not get paid. This demonstrates the excellent services that I had provided to the firm.

Working as a cashier in a MMS-kiosk in Limassol (July 2014):

• Confidently worked in a Kiosk in which my main responsibility was as a cashier.
•  Effectively completed tasks such as reconciling the daily takings, stock rotation and checking supplier invoices.
•   Further improved my communication skills by assisting customers with any queries they had. 

Working as cashier at Subway restaurant (Cyprus-Anexartisias) (July-August 2012): 

•  Worked in extremely busy environment under high amounts of pressure at a fast pace whilst continuously offering a high level of service to customers.
•  My main responsibilities included preparing food preparation, serving customers, handling money and cleaning the entire shop.
•   Demonstrated a strong ability to multi-task school work as well as working part-time in a busy restaurant.
•  SignSificantly improved my communication skills in a second language (English) by confidently dealing with customer requests.

Skills: - Self-motivated and energetic individual with ability to work under pressure, excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. 

·                      IT: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Offices (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

·         Confident use and excellent knowledge of Intellisoft and QuickBooks accounting software.

·         Languages: Fluency in the English and Greek language both oral and written.

·         Modern Greek O level (B), and English, IELTS (Overall 7/9).

Higher Education

  Northumbria University (2013-2016):

•   BA Hons Accounting Studies
•   Achieved 2:2 (59.3%)
•   Successfully completed final year modules including a 10,000 word dissertation on corporate governance.
•   Relevant modules: Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Principles of Law and Governance, Taxation,Corporate and Group Accounting, Auditing, Financial Appraisal Risk and Management Accounting, Contemporary Issues in Financial Reporting and Strategic Management and Leadership. These modules provided me with skills and knowledge, which I look to apply throughout my career.

Achievements: During my final year, I received praise from my lecturer for the excellent presentation of my coursework. This demonstrates my ability to confidently communicate thoughts as well as my ability to present to others.

Secondary Education

  St John Lyceum (2010-2013):

•  The main school-leaving certificate for secondary education in Cyprus, acquired after successfully completing the third grade of Lyceum which is graded on a 20-point scale.
•  Apolytirion leaving certificate 18.5/11 (equivalent to an A at A-level)

Reading: I enjoy reading The International Economy magazine and other Economic and Business Magazines and websites such as BBC News to keep up to date with current global economic and financial situations.
