Technical Support Specialist
FIRST REPUBLIC BANK (HEADQUARTERS). San Francisco, California. November 2006 – May 2007.
(First Republic Bank is a high profile financial institution with over 11,000 employees which include information demanding financial traders as well as corporate executives.)
• Assisted a team supporting over 1100 users running Windows XP, Office 2003 and specific bank applications such as OSI, ITI, Reuters, and Bloomberg.
• Provided system administration and level 1 support using Proxy Master for remote assistance, AD Admin for profile management, DK HelpDesk for high volume ticket entry and MS Exchange for email management.
• Hardware support: Hewlett Packard desktops, Dell Laptops, Palm Treo, VPN access tokens, Polycom for video/audio conference setup and all-in-one HP printers and dedicated scanners.
• Level 2 responsibilities: Assembly of HP computers and Dell laptops which included mapping the hard drive and installing hardware components (hard drive, RAM and ROM drive). Installation of network printers by assigning an IP address, setting up scan, fax, and print features, and adding printers to the network.
• Conversion responsibilities: entailed a complete replacement of computers for over 150 new users employed by the bank following an acquisition. Worked on location and remotely to setup the software and accounts for the new hardware.
• Trained new hired Level 1 specialists on a formal training program.
