Overview of Position
Being the only Developer of a small company, I am responsible for re-developing and maintaining a big online system from
scratch.
Principal Accountabilities
 Project planning, analysis and design of the whole system were required, while consideration had to be taken for
all aspects and essential functionality prior carrying out any development.
 An entity relational database was built on MySQL platform using MySQL Workbench and PHPMyAdmin and a
secure front interface using PHP5, HTML/CSS and Javascript.
 AJAX & JSON technologies have also been used when required (usually for funky user friendly functionality).
 JQuery, PHPMailer and ADODB libraries were used during the development of the web system as well.
 I have built a secure system that involves user IP restrictions, automated user and email accounts creation and
CMS interfaces for maintenance.
 The system is also able to display multiple flash videos and slides using FlowPlayer and adobe Flash Player.
 Other areas of the system allow the user to create his/her own page using the FCKEditor, which I embedded into
the system after some major alterations.
 I have even implemented a chat functionality between the online users of the system using AJAX and JSON.
In terms of graphics I constantly liaise with our graphics designer and my supervisor who authorises the designs.
(2008-2009) Database Developer, CallCredit Information Group (CallCredit - Credit Referencing Agency)
Principal Accountabilities
 Development and maintenance of database systems to extract, cleanse, transform, load and maintain credit data.
 Development and maintenance of batch data products.
 Development and maintenance of the database persistence layer (stored procedures views, functions) for hosted
web applications.
 Ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements.
 Provide database development support to data services team.
 Produce ad-hoc queries and develop reports to support business needs.
 Unit testing of developed solutions.

Overview of Position
To develop and support departmental software and processes in order that the department can meet its stated objectives
and continually improve on its service and delivery offering.
Principal Accountabilities
 Design, develop, test, and implement production software and database solutions.
 Liaise with the data and software development departments to understand their development and release
programmes. Escalate any conflicts with production goals to line management.
 Adhere to coding, SourceSafe, and TestTrack standards, to facilitate clear working practices and audit tracing.
 Write technical specifications to explain new procedures and development.
 Identify and capture software, data, or database faults.
 Assist the resolution of software or data related issues raised by the production team.
 Proactively attempt to find and resolve problems before they surface.

(2005-2006) IT Support Assistant, Skills for Care (Work Placement)
Overview of Position
To work within the IT Unit in providing first and second-line technical support and advice for Skills for Care staff, including
support for PCs and peripherals, and standard software in use at Skills for Care.
Principal Accountabilities
 To record and to resolve help desk requests and to provide support in hardware, operating system and application
software for Skills for Care users by electronic communication, telephone, fax or visit to remote and home users.
 To assist with the provision of training and coaching in Skills for Care standard software applications to all Skills for
Care staff as required. To keep accurate records of training/coaching provided.
 To provide support for word processing, spreadsheet and database as required.
 To work to ensure good practice in IT usage in Skills for Care.
 To ensure that no software is installed or used without the prior procurement of the appropriate licences.
 To maintain project plans, ensure all documentation is complete, auditable and maintained centrally.

and intense exposure in previous commercial experience.
MS SQL Server 2005 (2 years). Intense commercial experience in database development, including Stored Procedures,
functions, triggers and schema creation.
MySQL 5.x (2 years). First came across this database platform during university projects and worked further on it while
working as a Web Developer.
Oracle 9i/10g Express (2 years). Database development and some administration. Experience gained mainly through

2006 - ITIL Foundation (IT Infrastructure Library)
I successfully completed an intense three days service management course. ITIL is a framework for IT Service Management
Best Practice, which can be implemented to an organisation to help develop and manage their IT more efficiently and cost
effectively. During the course we looked into how ITIL can help with IT provision by providing better customer service,
better cost effectiveness, and better motivation and productivity.
2006 - Prince2 Foundation
I successfully completed an intense three days project management course. Prince2 is a project management method
covering the organisation, management and control of projects. During the course we looked into the key features and
benefits which the use of this method can bring to an organisation, such as product-based planning approach, and a
controlled and organised start, middle and end.
