As a Portfolio Analyst I am responsible for various activities within the organisation and playing a key supporting role of the Emerging Markets Equities multi currency accounts. This role required a combination of analytical work supporting the various business areas, the review of cash management projections across all accounts, FX processing as well as the day-to-day liaison with the London Front Office.
Responsibilities and Experience:
 On a daily basis monitor cash positions liaising with Fund Managers to ensure no overdrafts occur and all trades have been covered.
 Day-to-day liaising with Fund Managers, Legg Mason Technology Services (LMTS) Stamford, Brokers and Custodians. Ensuring relations are maintained at all levels.
 Assisting in the resolution of cash exceptions, which may occur between Legg Mason International Equities records and the Custodians records using Smartstream.
 Processing daily FX’s in an accurate and timely manner.
 Assisting in the daily pricing function performed by Legg Mason Technology Services.
 Creating manual payment faxes and carrying out call backs on payments.



 Accurately entering daily subscriptions, redemption and checking fund information in Portia.
 Assisting our US team with Fund of Funds.
 Managing contract notes for front office.
 Using Bloomberg daily to check company profiles, pricing, FX rates and financial news.
 Weekly reconciliations on funds to verify all positions are correct and all breaks are investigated.
 Instructing custodians to execute fund specific instructions.
 Working closely with front office to ensure all operational issues are covered.
 Working with compliance to ensure all trades and funds are within the FSA regulation and address any potential issues quickly.
 Creating reports for client services to ensure they have the most accurate information to hand.
 New account openings are correctly and fully functioning before any trades are executed.
